We have regained full control of our original Paypal account on Monday, June 30, 2026 and disabled the affected Paypal endpoints for Windows 11 Folder Color Changer.

This effectively disables Paypal payments in all versions of Windows 11 Folder Color Changer prior to Version 1.1.0.32. 

The risk of making a payment to the Paypal hijackers has been fully mitigated.

We wish to express our thanks to Paypal for expeditiously addressing and resolving this matter in the interest of our users.

Because we updated the Paypal processing within the app, should you wish to purchase a license going forward, please ensure you are running Version 1.1.0.32 or later.

Our (original) PayPal account was hijacked on Friday, June 26, 2026. The hijackers have retained our logo and company name in an effort to deceive internet users.

This is the PayPal account that was is used to process transactions in all versions of Windows 11 Folder Color Changer prior to Version 1.1.0.32.

This means that if you are using an older version and click the "Unlock more features" button, your payment will go directly to the hijackers - not to us.

To be clear: This does NOT affect the security of the app itself. The app remains completely safe to use. However, payment processing via Paypal must be considered compromised in all versions of Windows 11 Folder Color Changer prior to Version 1.1.0.32. 

We have reported the hijacking to Paypal and await their response and support in regaining control of our (original) Paypal account.

We have set up a new Paypal account in the interim.

As of Monday, June 29, 2026, we have released Version 1.1.0.32, which updates the payment processing within the app to use the new Paypal account.

Going forward, versions 1.1.0.32 and later are the only trusted versions, in particular if you intend to purchase a product key.

Follow these steps to safely purchase a license

1. Before purchasing a license, uninstall your current version and install version 1.1.0.32 or later.

2. Only download the app from our official website: foldercolorchanger.com. We cannot vouch for the safety or authenticity of copies downloaded from third-party sites.

3. Only use the "Unlock more features" button inside version 1.1.0.32 or later. 

If you already paid the hijackers

If you already made a payment through a any version older than version 1.1.0.32 on or after June 26, 2026, and didn't receive a license key:

• We cannot provide you with a key, as we never received your payment.

• You will need to open a dispute directly with Paypal to obtain a refund.

• Once Paypal processes your refund, you are welcome to place a new order from within version 1.1.0.32 or later to receive a product key from us.
